Softball Recap: Centennial's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

Centennial had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 15-10 win over the Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts Mustangs on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Mustangs on Friday, they had to take a 9-7 loss.

Taelyn Danner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Emma Anundi- Boland was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Claire Carron, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Centennial's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 4-13. As for Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Centennial is set to challenge their familiar foe Parkrose at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts will square off against rival La Salle at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
