Preview: Juab Wasps vs. Emery Spartans
Two dominant in Ava Cuff and Katelyn Nielson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Juab Wasps will be playing at home against the Emery Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Even though Juab has not done well against Manti recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Juab pulled ahead with a 57-56 photo finish over Manti.
Meanwhile, Emery can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They blew past North Sanpete, posting a 65-26 win on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Emery has posted against North Sanpete since January 9, 2018.
Juab's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Emery, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Juab came out on top in a nail-biter against Emery when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 61-58. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Emery's Kenadie Maughan, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds.
