Soccer Recap: Pekin Takes a Loss

Pekin lost to Cedar Grove-Belgium back in April of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Dragons came up short against the Rockets, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Pekin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 200th in Illinois, while Cedar Grove-Belgium are ranked 58th in Wisconsin).

Pekin's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-1. As for Cedar Grove-Belgium, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-1 record this season.

Pekin didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Limestone on the 5th. As for Cedar Grove-Belgium, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, an 8-0 loss against Oak Park-River Forest on the 2nd.
