Baseball Recap: Cox Mill Comes Up Short

Cox Mill was the 4-2 winner over Lake Norman when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Chargers took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Tuesday. Chargers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Wildcats since on Tuesday.

Tyler McBee made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI.

Cox Mill dropped their record down to 7-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Lake Norman, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-5.

Looking ahead, Cox Mill will face off against Providence at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Chargers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
