Volleyball Game Preview: Warde/Ludlowe vs. Stamford Black Knights

Warde/Ludlowe will square off against the Stamford Black Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Warde/Ludlowe: they have been struggling with nine straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Stamford has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.

On Wednesday, Warde/Ludlowe came up short against Ludlowe and fell 3-1.

Warde/Ludlowe started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Stamford faced Darien in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Black Knights put the hurt on the Blue Wave with a sharp 3-0 victory.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 27-25, 25-19.

Stamford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Warde/Ludlowe, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.
