Baseball Recap: Cardinal Spellman Takes a Loss

Cardinal Spellman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Edmund Prep Eagles. The Pilots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2017.

Cardinal Spellman's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for St. Edmund Prep, they moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Cardinal Spellman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-3 victory against Christ the King on the 17th. As for St. Edmund Prep, they will welcome Monsignor McClancy at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
