Basketball Recap: Abby Rice and Triniti Terracciano Secure Win for North Valley Christian Academy

On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the North Valley Christian Academy Lions beat The Gregory School Hawks 34-28. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

North Valley Christian Academy was led to victory by Triniti Terracciano and Abby Rice. Terracciano went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points and four steals, while Rice dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Terracciano's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Kalina Santor was another key player, putting up two points and four steals.

North Valley Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Gregory School only pulled down six offensive boards.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zena Smith, who posted nine points in addition to six boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Lauren Mayer, who put up four points.

North Valley Christian Academy pushed their record up to 10-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points over those games. As for The Gregory School, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

North Valley Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-17 victory against Highland Prep West on the 3rd. As for The Gregory School, they have also already played their next contest, a 44-12 loss against Bisbee on the 31st.
