Recap: Northern Huskies vs. Southern Rams
The Northern Huskies suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 54-29 defeat at the hands of Southern. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northern has scored all season.
Northern lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Abby Nelson, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Bowser, who scored four points.
Southern found their leader in underclassman Jayden Weaver, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Weaver has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emelee Parks, who scored ten points.
Northern's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Southern, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Northern will be playing at home against Hancock at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hancock comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Southern, they will head out on the road to challenge Tucker County at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Tucker County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Saturday.
