Old Fort is 6-1 against St. Mary Central Catholic since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Old Fort turned things around against St. Joseph Central Catholic on Wednesday. They blew past the Crimson Streaks 12-1. The Stockaders' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.

Ryan Adelsperger was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Adelsperger was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Old Fort got a big performance out of Andrew tackett, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. The Stockaders are undefeated when TackeTT posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Caiden Swecker, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Old Fort was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
New Riegel hit St. Mary Central Catholic with a five-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Blue Jackets, falling 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since May 16, 2024.
St. Mary Central Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anarion Stanford, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
The defeat snapped St. Mary Central Catholic's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-6 record. As for Old Fort, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Old Fort has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Mary Central Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
