Basketball Game Preview: Red Bud Musketeers vs. Pinckneyville Panthers

The Red Bud Musketeers will be taking part in a tournament against the Pinckneyville Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Bud has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight defeats, while Pinckneyville will come in with three straight victories.

Last Wednesday, Red Bud ended up a good deal behind Sparta and lost 62-47. While losing is never fun, the Musketeers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 516th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 158th).

Meanwhile, Pinckneyville didn't have too much trouble with Benton on Friday as they won 51-36.

Pinckneyville has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Red Bud, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Red Bud suffered a grim 60-34 defeat to Pinckneyville when the teams last played back in February of 2015. Can Red Bud avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
