Recap: Tindley Tigers vs. Heritage Christian Eagles
It was a good run, but the Tindley Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Heritage Christian 51-47. Tindley lost against Heritage Christian in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 81-62 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Tindley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Damon Van Horn. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. The matchup was Van Horn's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Corde' White, who scored five points.
Luke Peters was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds for Heritage Christian. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Louden, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Tindley's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Heritage Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Tindley and Greensburg will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Jack Mckinsey and Van Horn.
