Basketball Recap: Lackey Comes Up Short

Lackey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against the Calvert Cavaliers, falling 50-29. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Calvert was led to victory by Amani Welch and Brooke Kidwell. Welch went 10-for-15 on her way to 24 points and four steals, while Kidwell dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. Those 24 points gave Welch a new career-high.

Lackey's record now sits at 1-18. As for Calvert, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-12.

Lackey does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calvert, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-17 loss against Leonardtown on the 19th.
