Volleyball Recap: Kinsey Fisher and Jenna Owen Secure Win for Carrollton

Carrollton entered their tilt with Penney on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hornets. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Carrollton was: they took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-11, 25-4.

Leading Carrollton to victory were Jenna Owen and Kinsey Fisher. Owen hit 87.5% for seven kills and 12 aces and one block, while Fisher had eight digs and four aces. Fisher has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 17 times she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Carrollton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 27 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 15 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Carrollton's win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Carrollton will be playing in front of their home fans against Orrick at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Penney, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Mid-Buchanan on the 6th.
