Basketball Recap: Greenwood Comes Up Short

Greenwood lost against J.L. Mann back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Greenwood Eagles took a 67-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the J.L. Mann Patriots. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Greenwood still got an impressive performance from Cj Terrell, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. Terrell is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Brooks, who posted 15 points and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead J.L. Mann to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kam'Ron Williams, who went 7-for-17 to rack up 20 points and five boards. Dontez Walker was another key player, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Greenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for J.L. Mann, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenwood will host Mauldin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greenwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.1 points per game this season. As for J.L. Mann, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Easley at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in J.L. Mann's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.
