Baseball Recap: Mountain View Wins Going Away Against San Elizario

Mountain View had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt San Elizario on Tuesday. The Lobos were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Eagles. The Lobos not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th.

Samuel Gutierrez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Nayden Cervantes was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Ethan Martinez was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

Mountain View's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for San Elizario, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Mountain View will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
