South County's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the West Springfield Spartans a 1-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for South County, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

South County's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3-1 and their overall record up to 4-5-2. As for West Springfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.
