Baseball Recap: Washington Falls Short Against Ranked Parkersburg South

Washington faced Parkersburg South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Washington fell just short of Parkersburg South by a score of 11-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for Washington, who until this matchup were averaging 3.6 runs allowed.

Sven Dupree made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxton Earl, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Parkersburg South, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-7.

Coming up, Washington will venture away from home to square off against Martinsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Parkersburg South, they will host Marietta at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
