Basketball Recap: Eastern Shore Homeschool Falls Despite Big Games from Eli Miller and Zach Miller

Eastern Shore HomeSchool has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 72-50 to the FAITH HomeSchool Falcons on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mavericks came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 40th in Delaware, while the Falcons are ranked 465th in Michigan).

Eastern Shore HomeSchool's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Zach Miller, who went 8-for-18 to rack up 21 points, and Eli Miller, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 boards gave Eli a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Gray, who posted five points and five rebounds.

Eastern Shore HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for FAITH HomeSchool, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-13 record.

Looking ahead, Eastern Shore HomeSchool won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Greater Cabarrus S at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Greater Cabarrus S will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Eastern Shore HomeSchool surely won't give up without a fight. As for FAITH HomeSchool, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. FAITH HomeSchool will be up against Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.68 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
