Morgan Township and Kankakee Valley are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Cherokees will face off against the Kougars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Morgan Township is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Morgan Township had taken Kouts down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Cherokees took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs & Fillies.

Morgan Township saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Spagna, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Jett Gheaja also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Kankakee Valley posted their closest victory since May 3, 2024 on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Glenn, sneaking past 4-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Kougars.

Kankakee Valley also got a great performance from Alex Barr as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Barr has posted since back in April of 2024.

The win got Kankakee Valley back to even at 4-4-1. As for Morgan Township, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

Morgan Township came up short against Kankakee Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 6-3. Can the Cherokees avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
