Basketball Game Preview: Bayfield Wolverines vs. Pagosa Springs Pirates

Bayfield is 1-9 against Pagosa Springs since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bayfield Wolverines will look to defend their home court against the Pagosa Springs Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Bayfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season.

Pagosa Springs will be up against a hot Bayfield squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Bayfield strolled past Monte Vista with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 58-43.

Bayfield got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cooper Roderick out in front who went 6 for 12 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Queen, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

Bayfield was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monte Vista only racked up six assists.

Meanwhile, Pagosa Springs didn't have too much trouble with Del Norte on Tuesday as they won 51-32.

Bayfield has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Pagosa Springs, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.
