Baseball Game Preview: San Fernando Tigers vs. Legacy Tigers

San Fernando will take on Legacy in a tournament on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, San Fernando turned things around against Banning on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Pilots.

Alex Torres spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. San Fernando is undefeated when Torres posts eight or more strikeouts, but 4-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Diego Romero-Salazar was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Legacy made sure to put some runs up on the board against North Hollywood on Wednesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Huskies. The game marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season.

The victory got San Fernando back to even at 8-8. As for Legacy, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11.
