Football Game Preview: Desert Heights Prep Yote vs. Baboquivari Warriors

The Desert Heights Prep Yote will head out on the road to challenge the Baboquivari Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Desert Heights Prep has given up an average of 40.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Desert Heights Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Salome, who was ranked 12th at the time (Desert Heights Prep was ranked fifth). The Yote managed a 54-50 victory over the Frogs on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Baboquivari was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 50-20 defeat at the hands of Duncan. On the bright side, the 20- point performance marked the Warriors' highest-scoring contest to date.

Desert Heights Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.5 points over those games. As for Baboquivari, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Desert Heights Prep lost to Baboquivari on the road by a decisive 64-46 margin when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Can the Yote avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
