Softball Recap: Willamette Has No Trouble Against North Salem

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Willamette). They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the North Salem Vikings on Sunday. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won four matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Cabbi Eads was a standout: she scored three runs while going 2-for-2. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sophie Robins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Eads wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Willamette kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Willamette's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for North Salem, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Willamette will challenge Roseburg at 4:30 p.m. on April 1. As for North Salem, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on South Eugene at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday.
