It was a good run, but Manatee unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Southeastern Prep Academy Falcons by a score of 7-6.

Bryan Rodriguez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ashton Hovda, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Manatee's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Southeastern Prep Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Manatee will be playing in front of their home fans against Cardinal Mooney at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Manatee 3.1, Cardinal Mooney 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Southeastern Prep Academy, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against LaBelle at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
