Preview: Arleta Mustangs vs. North Hollywood Huskies
Arleta is 8-1 against North Hollywood since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Arleta Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the North Hollywood Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Arleta is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Last Friday, Arleta got themselves on the board against Chavez, but Chavez never followed suit. They walked away with a 10-0 win over the Eagles.
Arleta found their leader in underclassman Jose Rosas, who gained 114 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, North Hollywood got themselves on the board against Verdugo Hills on Friday, but Verdugo Hills never followed suit. They took down the Dons 14-0.
It was another big night for Jaylin Burt, who rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Burt is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. North Hollywood also got a significant boost from Omar M, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 88 yards.
Their wins bumped Arleta to 7-1 and North Hollywood to 3-4.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Arleta has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 228.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like North Hollywood struggles in that department as they've been even better at 337.7 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Arleta lost to North Hollywood on the road by a decisive 16-0 margin when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Can Arleta avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
