The Liberty Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Santa Maria Saints at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Liberty is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season.

Liberty is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Sierra on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Liberty lost 70-46 to Sierra. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hawks have suffered since January 2nd.

Despite their loss, Liberty saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Gavin Pattan, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. Mauro Farinelli was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Santa Maria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost an 86-85 heartbreaker at the hands of Lompoc. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (82), the Saints still had to take the loss.

Santa Maria's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-13.
