Basketball Recap: Greely Comes Up Short

Greely was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Mt. Ararat Eagles and fell 54-26. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Eagles are ranked seventh).

Greely's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Mt. Ararat, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Greely will square off against Cape Elizabeth at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mt. Ararat, they will challenge Gray-New Gloucester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gray-New Gloucester will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Mt. Ararat surely won't give up without a fight.
