Baseball Recap: La Porte Comes Up Short

If La Porte was riding high fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Merrillville on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Slicers fell just short of the South Bend Adams Eagles by a score of 15-13 on Friday. The Slicers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Gage Raymond made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. La Porte is 2-1 when Raymond posts three or more hits, but 7-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Reed Raymond, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

La Porte's record now sits at 9-12. As for South Bend Adams, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-17.

Looking ahead, La Porte will face off against Valparaiso at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Bend Adams, they will take on Concord at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
