Volleyball Recap: Sheridan Hills Christian Takes a Loss

If Sheridan Hills Christian was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Horeb Christian on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sharks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Franklin Academy Panthers on Friday. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

While Sheridan Hills Christian ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 17-25, 25-18.

Mahaila Senatus paced Sheridan Hills Christian's offense, picking up six kills. Senatus got some help from Gianna Kressin and her 13 assists. Senatus was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Sheridan Hills Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Franklin Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Sheridan Hills Christian will face off against Edison Private at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin Academy, they will take on Academy for Innovative Education at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
