Basketball Recap: Islesboro Central Takes a Loss

If Islesboro Central was riding high fresh off their 60-33 takedown of North Haven last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Islesboro Central Eagles were outmatched by the Pine Tree Academy Breakers and fell 58-30. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Breakers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Islesboro Central has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Pine Tree Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Islesboro Central won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Richmond at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pine Tree Academy, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Valley will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Pine Tree Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
