Softball Recap: Monadnock Huskies vs. Prospect Mountain Timberwolves        
        
		
            Monadnock dropped their record down to 10-2 on Friday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins at home. They fell  6-3 to the Prospect Mountain Timberwolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the  10-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2024.
 Ari Drouin was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she  tossed seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and three unearned) runs off   five  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Cainen Avery made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  double.
As for Prospect Mountain, the  win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 15-1. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 14.4 runs over those games.
On Prospect Mountain's side,  Alexis Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Paige Harding and  Liv Noyes did most of the damage at the plate:  Harding  went 1-for-3 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run, while  Noyes  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. That's the most  RBI  Harding has posted since back in April.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Monadnock is set to  take on  their familiar foe Bishop Brady  at 4:15  p.m.  on Monday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Huskies 2.4, the Giants 3.9) so any  runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Prospect Mountain will  challenge  rival Trinity  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday.
