Football Recap: Little Village Phoenix vs. Muchin College Prep Mountain Lions
Saturday just wasn't the day for Little Village's offense. They had to suffer through a 40-0 loss at the hands of the Muchin College Prep Mountain Lions. The Phoenix were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mountain Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2019.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Muchin College Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than De?Andre Schaut, who threw for 340 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes. Schaut's passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 330 passing yards. Dawayne Kirk was Schaut's top target, picking up 200 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Little Village now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Muchin College Prep, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Little Village is on the road again on Friday to play ITW David Speer Academy at 7:00 p.m. ITW David Speer Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Little Village surely won't give up without a fight. As for Muchin College Prep, they will venture away from home to take on Foreman at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Muchin College Prep will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
