Basketball Recap: Central Valley Takes a Loss

Central Valley fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Gonzaga Prep on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups by a score of 68-66. The Bears were up 34-20 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Central Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Gonzaga Prep, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Central Valley and Gonzaga Prep should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. Central Valley will square off against Lewis & Clark at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 179 places (78 vs. 257). Central Valley will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Similarly, Gonzaga Prep (ranked fifth) will meet Cheney (ranked 212th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
