Baseball Recap: Berean Christian Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Highlands Christian, Berean Christian was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Lake Worth Trojans get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bulldogs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Connor King made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Oliver Coronado, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Berean Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-9 when he doesn't). Reilley Moore was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Berean Christian's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9. As for Lake Worth, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Berean Christian will host Jupiter Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Lake Worth, they will head out to face off against Tradition Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
