Vela had to settle for second on Friday, but Santiago Montes sure wasn't going down easily. Despite the loss, Montes was still locked in as he struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
