The Timberlake Christian Tornadoes can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 40-24 victory over Roanoke Valley Christian. The win was just what Timberlake Christian needed coming off of a 48-25 defeat in their prior game.

Timberlake Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rowan Yerringron out in front who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayla Sleboda, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two steals.

Eva Boyd and Maddie Hurt certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Boyd scored eight points along with four steals and two blocks, while Hurt scored six points along with 11 rebounds. Boyd is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lily Boyd, who scored three points along with five blocks and two steals.

Timberlake Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Timberlake Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Christian Heritage Academy at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Christian Heritage Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, they and Craig County will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
