Softball Game Preview: Glencoe Crimson Tide vs. Westview Wildcats

The Glencoe Crimson Tide will take on the Westview Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Glencoe 2.9, Westview 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Glencoe is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Barlow just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 8-4 to the Bruins.

Irene Vandyke was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Tuesday Mevis, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Westview posted their closest win since May 10, 2024 on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Oregon City 3-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Glencoe's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Westview, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Glencoe was able to grind out a solid win over Westview in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 7-2. Do the Crimson Tide have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
