Softball Recap: Blanchester Gets the Win

Blanchester took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Clermont Northeastern, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Rockets 7-5. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 13-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tatum Strange was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Davenport, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Blanchester has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Clermont Northeastern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blanchester will venture away from home to challenge Bethel-Tate at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clermont Northeastern, they will head out to take on Fayetteville-Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
