Softball Recap: Williamstown Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Williamstown won the last time they faced Villa Madonna and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Demons came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Demons.

Karaline Peer made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kilynn White, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.

Williamstown pushed their record up to 6-5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Villa Madonna, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Williamstown will venture away from home to challenge Calvary Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.09 runs per game on average), something the Demons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Villa Madonna, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dixie Heights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
