Football Preview: Osceola Seminoles vs. Hoxie Mustangs
Osceola and Hoxie are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2014, but not for long. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoxie took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Osceola, who comes in off a win.
Osceola will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any points on September 6th, then bounced right back against Gosnell two weeks ago. Osceola took down Gosnell 31-12.
Tyler Bell had a dynamite game for Osceola, throwing for 199 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 56 yards and a touchdown. Bell also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making a tackle and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Jeremiah Jacobs was another key player, gaining 164 total yards and a touchdown.

Dillon Guthrie put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.
The win got Osceola back to even at 1-1. As for Hoxie, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.
Osceola suffered a grim 35-14 defeat to Hoxie when the teams last played back in October of 2023. Thankfully for Osceola, Kayden Glenn (who rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and also threw for 99 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
