Basketball Preview: Coleman Comets vs. Vestaburg Wolverines
Coleman and the Wolverines are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Coleman Comets will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Vestaburg Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Coleman is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought match, but Coleman had to settle for a 44-42 defeat against the Eagles. Coleman has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their game on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Vestaburg, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-41 loss to the Irish on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Vestaburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 506th, while the Irish are ranked 116th).
Coleman has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Vestaburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Coleman beat the Wolverines 55-45 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does Coleman have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
