Softball Recap: Foothill Triumphs

After losing to Bishop O'Dowd the last time they met, Foothill decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Falcons came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 10-5 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Myra Galzie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Naima Braham was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Madyson Espino, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Foothill's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Foothill will take on Maria Carrillo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pumas have averaged an impressive 12.2 runs per game this season. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they will face off against Alameda at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Dragons' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
