Flag Football Recap: Lindsey Flores' Menacing Defense Leads La Joya Community over Central + How To Watch

If Central wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played La Joya Community, they should've done a better job of containing Jasmine Lorenzo. The Fighting Lobos breezed past the Bobcats to the tune of 70-0 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Lorenzo, who rushed for 108 yards and three TDs on only seven carries, and also threw for 41 yards and one touchdown while completing 85.7% of her passes. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 86 yards.

La Joya Community didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Lindsey Flores led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by herself. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

La Joya Community's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coming up, La Joya Community will take on Highland Prep West in a tournament on Saturday. As for Central, they will face off against North at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
