Baseball Recap: Stryker Gill Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Edinburgh

Hauser put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let the Edinburgh Lancers get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. Fans of the Jets have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

R.J. Foster made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, Stryker Gill was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Peyton Bennett was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2.

Hauser kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edinburgh only managed one hit.

Hauser's record now sits at 3-0. As for Edinburgh, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Hauser will venture away from home to challenge North Decatur at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Edinburgh, they will welcome Indy Genesis HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
