Colby has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will head out to challenge the Owen-Withee Blackhawks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Owen-Withee took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Colby, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Colby narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Stanley-Boyd 2-1.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Colby got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-15, 23-25, 15-11.
Colby can attribute much of their success to Tori Underwood, who had 12 digs.
Meanwhile, Owen-Withee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gilman.
The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 23-25, 25-15, 25-11.
Colby has been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Owen-Withee, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Colby was able to grind out a solid win over Owen-Withee in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colby since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
