            Softball Recap: Myrtle Hawks vs. Ripley Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Mantachie, Myrtle was happy to have turned things around  on Monday. They came out on top against the Ripley Tigers by a score of  7-3. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered  a  14-4  loss the last time these two teams met.
 Brooklyn Streich made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. Streich was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with one  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted  over her last seven  matches.
 In other batting news,  Ally Murphy and  Cora Beth Kelly did most of the damage at the plate:  Murphy  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3, while  Kelly  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  triple.  Mckensie Wise was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
 Myrtle  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ripley only managed five  hits.

Myrtle's win was  their seventh straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 18-4. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Ripley, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record  this season.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Myrtle will host North Pontotoc  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Ripley, they will be playing at home against Tishomingo County  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
