Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Life Prep's Third in Last Four Outings

Life Prep won the last time they faced St. Mary's Academy, and Quinton Rolle Jr did his part to make sure it happened again. The Life Prep Fire took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging a 66-35 win over the St. Mary's Academy Crusaders thanks in part to Rolle Jr, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (three).

Laterro Young was another key player, putting up two points along with eight assists and four steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

Life Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for St. Mary's Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Life Prep will venture away from home to face off against Independent at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Life Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Independent likes a good challenge. St. Mary's Academy will take on Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF in a holiday battle at at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
