Soccer Recap: Chaparral Comes Up Short

If Chaparral was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Tournament Opponent on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cowboys lost 5-0 to the Payson Longhorns on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Chaparral can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 59th in Nevada, while Payson are ranked third in Arizona).

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Payson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Chaparral didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Rancho on the 16th. As for Payson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, an 8-0 victory against Holbrook on the 16th.
