Softball Game Preview: North Hunterdon Lions vs. Hunterdon Central Red Devils

The North Hunterdon Lions will challenge the Hunterdon Central Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. North Hunterdon will be strutting in after a win while Hunterdon Central will be coming in after a loss.

On Thursday, North Hunterdon earned an 8-4 victory over Immaculata. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly four runs.

Meanwhile, Hunterdon Central came up short against Bridgewater-Raritan on Thursday and fell 8-5.

Cam Tucker made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

North Hunterdon's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hunterdon Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

North Hunterdon came out on top in a nail-biter against Hunterdon Central in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 8-6. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
