Basketball Recap: Covenant Academy Takes a Loss

On Thursday, Covenant Academy lost to the Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars on the road by a 49-30 margin.

Despite the loss, Covenant Academy still got an impressive performance from Ryan Stevens, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 36.7% of Covenant Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Covenant Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Thomas Jefferson Academy, with the win, they broke their 13-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant Academy will head out to challenge Windsor Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Thomas Jefferson Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Brentwood at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brentwood will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Thomas Jefferson Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
